POL 428 - Contemporary Political Theory/China Emphasis (3credits) Intensive examination of selected problems and concepts in political theory with a focus on the politics of the People's Republic of China.

POL 460 - Modern Chinese Foreign Relations (3 credits) Survey of the developments and trends in Chinese foreign relations in the modern period, focusing mainly on the relationship between the theoretical and actual objectives of China's foreign policies from 1949 to the present.

POL 464 - International Relations of East Asia (3 credits) National interests, issues, conflicts, relations, and influence of domestic politics in East Asian interstate relations.

PA 406 - Bureaucracy, Politics, & Policy (3 credits)

PA 496J - Macro Policy Analysis for International Competitiveness (3 credits)

Geography and Regional Studies

GEOG 455: Advanced Regional Study. China: A Geographical Introduction (3 or 6 credits) A geographical introduction to China considering the urbanization of China, China’s environmental issues, and China’s place in the global economy. This course covers the physical and human diversity of China, with an emphasis on the historical-geographical evolution of settlement and cultural diversity, agriculture and industry, urbanization and economic growth.

CHN 483 - Classical Confucianism (3 credits) This course covers Confucianism and other Chinese philosophies as well as religion in China.
