About YISA: Faculty, Advisors, & Administrators

Yangtze International Study Abroad welcomes students from universities and colleges all over the U.S. and the world. We will work with the study abroad office and academic advisors from the student’s home university to ensure that all expectations are clearly defined and that credit for courses completed at YISA are pre-approved.

The University of Arizona is YISA’s first and founding partner and grants direct credit for most of the coursework (including Chinese language) that students successfully complete in Nanjing. In addition, Florida Atlantic University and the University of Oklahoma have approved YISA’s curriculum and will grant direct credit to their own students who attend YISA. All other students will receive a U of A transcript at the end of each session. In some cases, coursework is created in cooperation with Nanjing Normal University and students will earn transfer credit for these courses reflected on a transcript from NNU.

YISA currently offers courses in Political Science, Geography, International Business, and Confucianism that are taught in English, and has partnered with the Chinese Language Department of Nanjing Normal University to offer a comprehensive language program from beginner to advanced levels. Visit the “Academic Life” section of this site to see a complete course listing and to view the syllabi.

Please contact YISA to learn more about how your school or department can be involved. A YISA representative will be happy to discuss affiliation, direct partnering, hosting one of your faculty led programs to China, or simply helping your students attend our study abroad program. We would like to talk with you whether you are sending one student, or if you are interested in making YISA your program in China.
